Expanded Opportunities at the 12th World Disability and Rehabilitation Conference (WDRC) 2027

Scholarship Program

At The International Institute of Knowledge Management (TIIKM), we are committed to promoting global knowledge exchange, supporting academic excellence, and advancing the professional development of researchers, students, emerging scholars, practitioners, and disability advocates worldwide. 

We believe that financial barriers should not prevent deserving individuals from participating in international academic dialogue. Therefore, WDRC 2027 offers a limited Scholarship Program to support conference participation, enabling selected applicants to present their research, gain international exposure, and engage with global experts in disability and rehabilitation. 

Scholarship recipients will have opportunities to contribute to discussions on disability inclusion, rehabilitation, accessibility, mental health and well-being, assistive technology, inclusive healthcare, resilience, policy, advocacy, and the empowerment of persons with disabilities. 

Scholarship Categories

Partial Scholarships

A limited number of partial registration fee waivers will be offered to support participation in WDRC 2027, whether attending virtually or onsite in Siem Reap, Cambodia.

Virtual Conference Waivers

  • 50% registration fee waiver
  • 25% registration fee waiver
  • Limited number of scholarships available

Physical Conference Waivers

  • 25% registration fee waiver
  • Limited number of scholarships available

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for a scholarship, applicants should demonstrate: 

  • A strong commitment to the purpose, theme, and academic areas of WDRC 2027.  
  • A clear and concise personal statement explaining why financial support is required and how conference participation will contribute to their academic or professional development.  
  • Demonstrated financial need or limited access to institutional funding.  
  • Active engagement in education, research, academia, technology, policy, or a related professional field.  
  • A high-quality abstract or relevant research outcome, where applicable.

TIIKM conferences bring together educators, researchers, academics, practitioners, policymakers, institutional leaders, and industry professionals from around the world. 

We welcome enthusiastic volunteers to become part of the WDRC 2027 international community. Volunteering provides an opportunity to gain practical event experience, strengthen communication and organizational skills, expand professional networks, and contribute to the success of a global academic conference. 

Who Can Volunteer?

We are looking for individuals who are: 

  • Motivated, organized, responsible, and proactive.  
  • Interested in academic, professional, and personal development.  
  • Able to communicate clearly and work effectively as part of a team.  
  • Interested in research, technology, event management, or international collaboration.  
  • Passionate about contributing to international conferences.  

Volunteer Roles

Volunteers may assist with: 

  • Pre-conference marketing and promotional activities.  
  • Registration and participant support.  
  • Session coordination and speaker assistance.  
  • Logistics and event management.  
  • Social media updates and conference promotion.  
  • PowerPoint and technical presentation support.  
  • Networking and attendee engagement.  
  • Other conference-related activities.  

Specific roles may vary depending on the conference format, program, and location. 

Volunteer Categories

Online Volunteering

Applicants who meet the requirements will be selected based on their experience, skills, qualifications, and availability.  

Roles and Responsibilities: 

  1. Disseminating conference promotional materials through academic and professional networks.  
  2. Working closely with academic profiles, universities, and relevant organizations.  
  3. Supporting conference promotional campaigns.  
  4. Assisting with database collection and management.  
  5. Supporting virtual engagement and online communication activities.

  • International networking opportunities.  
  • A recommendation letter upon successful completion.  
  • Practical experience in international conference promotion and coordination.  

In-Person Volunteering (Limited Slots Available)

Applicants who meet the requirements and are based in the conference host country will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis. A limited number of approximately 2–5 positions will be available. 

Roles and Responsibilities: 

  • Managing the registration desk alongside conference committee members.  
  • Welcoming and guiding participants.  
  • Assisting with PowerPoint presentations and session coordination.  
  • Supporting speakers, session chairs, and moderators.  
  • Providing social media and marketing assistance.  
  • Assisting with onsite logistics and event coordination.  
  • Supporting networking and participant engagement activities.

  • Lunch and refreshments during the two conference days.  
  • A recommendation letter upon successful completion.  
  • International networking opportunities.  
  • Practical experience in conference and event management.

Become a Country Coordinator

Who Is a Country Coordinator?

A Country Coordinator serves as an official representative of their country for WDRC 2027. The coordinator acts as an important link between the conference organizing committee and educators, researchers, universities, professional associations, and participants within the respective country or region. 

Country Coordinators contribute to promoting the conference, strengthening regional participation, supporting participant engagement, and expanding WDRC’s international academic network.

Join the Reviewer Panel

Who Is a Reviewer?

A Reviewer is an academic or professional expert who evaluates conference abstracts and papers to support the quality, relevance, and academic integrity of WDRC 2027. 

Reviewers play an important role in identifying impactful research, maintaining scholarly standards, guiding the selection of conference presentations, and providing constructive feedback to authors. 

Requirements to Become a Reviewer

Applicants should demonstrate: 

  • A doctoral qualification in disability, rehabilitation, or a relevant academic field.  
  • Recognized expertise in one or more areas aligned with the conference tracks.  
  • A strong publication record in reputable peer-reviewed journals.  
  • Sound knowledge of related disciplines and subfields.  
  • Previous experience reviewing abstracts, research papers, journal manuscripts, or serving on editorial boards.  
  • The ability to allocate sufficient time to complete reviews within the required deadlines. 
  • Strong academic writing, language, and evaluation skills.  
  • Commitment to confidentiality, fairness, and academic integrity.
